Frequently asked
Project Management — your questions, answered.
What's the difference between project management and construction management?
Project management covers the full lifecycle — one lead owning budget, schedule, stakeholder communication, and strategic decisions from kickoff to handover. Construction management is the hands-on, on-site coordination of the physical build: directing subcontractors, sequencing trades, and scheduling deliveries. On our Greater Montréal projects the project manager owns your outcome and reports to you; site supervision rolls up beneath that single point of accountability.
How much does construction project management cost in Montréal?
Fees are typically a percentage of total construction cost, most often in the 3–10% range, with smaller commercial or retail fit-outs sitting higher because oversight per dollar is greater. Structures vary: percentage-based, flat fee, or cost-plus. We scope the fee to project size and complexity up front so you see the management cost separately from construction, before work begins.
What does the project manager actually handle from kickoff to handover?
One lead owns the schedule, budget, and all communication. That means coordinating design, permits, and RBQ-licensed trades, running procurement timing, tracking cost against budget, managing change orders, enforcing safety and Quebec code compliance, and reporting progress to you. At completion they manage inspections, deficiency correction, and handover — so you have a single point of contact for the whole project.
